how to contact universities ?

Hi ,

I have 2 queries regarding how can I contact universities to get my queries clarified......

If I need to know some information i.e. Whether the school accepts college attested transcripts or ONLY university attested transcripts , then can I email the university directly or should I call them ?

If I want to know about something ( e.g. a curricular / electives/some interesting thing found on their website ) , should I email my query or should I call ?

Moreover is contacting a university a good practice ? Hope admission guys won't mind answering about my queries ..

Hi Sachin,

First, make sure that the answer to your question is not already somewhere on the college's website.

If you still cannot find what you are looking for, you have a few options.

For important questions about the admissions process:

The best venue for asking questions is the school itself or an info session given by the school. If that is not an option for you, you can contact the admissions office directly. Calling is better than emailing. There will always be a record of your email, which the admissions committee may look at it when reviewing your application.

For questions about a specific program or club:

You should avoid asking these questions altogether until after you have been accepted because they may sound presumptuous. If you really want to know, try looking on the admissions office's website to find out if they have current students you can talk to who could answer your questions.

Most importantly, with any communication you have, written or oral, with anyone from the school, consider it like an interview. Correct grammar, punctuation and politeness are essential.
