ii) 20 dogs (20+b) more than birds b;
1/3p = 20+b
1/5p = b
2/15p=20

let x be the total number of animals.
x/5 is the number of birds.
x/3 is the numbers of dogs

1.from first statment x/5 = 30.
so x = 30 *5 = 150 is the total number of pets.
dogs are 1/3 of 150 = 50 dogs.

2. from second statement.

dogs = birds + 20
x/3 = x/5 + 20
x/3 - x/5 = 20
2x/15 = 20
2x = 300
x =150

total number of pets = 150.
dogs are 1/3 of 150 = 50 dogs.

so Each statement alone is sufficient.
