I wrote the GMAT yesterday.740 ( 97 ) V(42) Q(48) I had never imagined that I could score this much. I have been planning to write it for the last 3 years but couldnt muster the courage. Not that I was studying for it.
BEATING THE GMAT.
I joined VeritasPrep in October a 9week course. The idea was paying 950 pounds would make me take it seriously. Nothing happened and the course material did not help either.
the material I used
OG 11th edition: MUST
SC
1. Manhattan Gmat SC guide in 1 week: I found this very helpful. When I started doing Sc' my rate was 6 wrong out of 10.
2. 1000 SC: I did 920: last 20 were done on the GMAT's day.
3: Sahil's Note & Spidey Notes: After doing ManhattanSC and a few 1000SC questions.
4 Erin's Flashcards: I carried it in my pocket the last 10 days.
By the end of it I was getting 8-9 out of 10 right. sometimes even 10
CR
1. A friend recommended PowerScore.
2. 1000 CR
RC
1000 RC
Quantitative
DS and problem solving
OG and DElicious directory.
GamePlan
The first time I wrote the Practice test I had to close it after finishing AWA and 10 q questions as it gave me a headache. I realised I need to improve on my endurance. After 5 tests I managed to give 1 full test.
Then I took 2 week leave and started with 1000 Sc CR RC. End of it I was scoring 670 on 800score.
KAPLAN1: 560
POWERPREP1: 580
KAPLAN2: 630
ARCO1: 620
ARCO 2: 670
KAPLAN 3: 550: This had me. I started thinking that my scoring is so erratic that I might end up with a 600 on a bad day.
800 2:680
800 3: 680
GMATPrep1: 760: I had done most of the question. I was kicking myself. Even after having done all I just managed a 760. I was getting ambitious.
KAPLAN 4: 640
PRINCETON: 680
GMATPrep 2: 730: Counted the ones I had done before. 6 q . Felt good.
DAY BEFORE
DONT WRITE ANY TEST. Do OG and read the flash cards. I wrote a maths test got a 34. Deflated.
