GRE for MBA application

by N:Dure » Thu Oct 28, 2010 2:17 pm
I had a question about my MBA application; I'm intending to apply with GRE scores instead of GMAT's. The question is will this hinder my application?
The programs I'm applying for accept both scores and have advised me to score within a certain percentile in order to be competitive, however, a friend of mine told me that GRE scores get treated as second tier unlike the GMAT. I'm considering applying to INSEAD, Columbia, IE, NYU and maybe MIT (they all accept GRE) but will applying with it affect my application?

Thanks ahead for your help!

Of course not! Schools are not trying to trick you in the admissions process by offering an option that they are then going to penalize you for taking advantage of. If you prefer to take the GRE, by all means do so.

And stop listening to that friend! :)

Good luck!
