New to GMAT...Need some guidance

Hi Everyone,

Totally new to the GMAT. I have read few of the messages in this forum to get some help, but still a bit confused. For starters, I really don't want to spend the money on these prep courses, unless I need to. I want to self-study and see how that goes first.

Can you help me with what books I should start off with? Really appreciate it guys. Thanks.

The effort required for prep depends on your abilities as of today. You could take a practice test, preferably GMAT prep.(free download from mba.com) and identify your strength and weaknesses.

Official Guide is considered a must for prep. You could start from there and decide whether you need any prep courses.
