GMAT App timing doubt

Hello All,

I would like to know if giving my gmat in November would deny my chances of applying to the US and UK industries in the sense would it make it tougher? I am planning to apply for 2011 intake - giving my GMAT in November first week. So ideally I 'd be able to apply/start applying by December 1st. So does this mean my admission gets tougher?
Kindly help me and let me know if I have to advance my dates to say October 30th or is it ok to write it in November first week. I am targeting top UK schools and top 20 US schools in general along with some Asian Schools!

Well, my general thought on this is that earlier is always better than later - it gives you more time to work on the other components of your application. That said, you have to take the GMAT when you are ready, and if you feel best prepared in the first week of November (especially since there's not much of a difference between Oct. 30th and 1st week of Nov.), then go ahead and take it then.

As long as you give yourself the time required to write great essays and put together a strong application, in time for 2nd round deadlines, your chances are just as good as anyone else applying in that round. The timing of your GMAT, as you describe it, doesn't carry that kind of weight to work against you.
