Best to interview with an alumnus or member of admissions?

Hi AceIt,

Congratulations on your invitation to interview! There is no difference in how the interview "counts" towards your candidacy in either case. It's more personal preference than anything else.

That admissions committee member will likely be more structured as a professional admissions interviewer. The alum may be more casual with you, and perhaps have extra time to chat after the interview is over. Both are a chance for an additional contact point with the school.
