Hi,

Thanks for your post. You haven't provided me with much detail in regard to your goals or how you selected the schools on your list. Your GMAT score of 710 is solid especially if your quant score is 80% or higher - since you didn't state this I'm not sure. However, you GPA is a bit low as compared to the averages at the schools on your list. While the upward trajectory is nice, I do caution you that some programs don't see it that way. Some programs (Ross has stated this) think that an upward trajectory could be indicative of padding your courses with electives in your final school terms. Meaning all the difficult courses were in the beginning when one struggles and then the easier courses are at the end when one does well. If your transcript demonstrates equally challenging programs during all four years then this won't be an issue for you.

The other concern I have is your reason for seeking an MBA. You don't share this with me, but I can tell you that you need to be very specific as to why the MBA is necessary at this point in your career. If you don't wish to pursue law as a career any longer, you'll need to be prepared to discuss this in an interview. Adcoms could fear that perhaps you are a "degree collector" and don't really have concise or clear goals. Don't let them draw this conclusion - be as specific as possible in your essays.

I think you can be competitive at the programs on your list, but you'll want to spend time doing your research as to how each of these programs is a fit and how you'll make a contribution.

Best,

Stacey
