Mistake in Recommendation

Today I got to know that my recommender told me that in the recommendation he submitted, he answered ques 1 to 4. Which means instead of writing the recommendation in a letter format, he just provided specific answers to Q1 to Q4.

I dont think this would have had an impact on the content.

Any idea how the school may look at it. ? It could be a case that the recommender did not understand the directions well. I cant blame him too cos he was moving to another company when he wrote it.

Many business school recommendations are not expected to be in letter form. If they have given specific questions, then answering those questions is appropriate. Besides, schools are looking for content, not for the literary skills of your recommender.

The issue is School asks for a letter (which should cover some basic ques) but my recommender has provided answers to each of the questions.

Is that ok.?

It the answers are positive and give them what they want, that will be fine. They are evaluating you, not your recommender.
