Thanks Sandeep! Glad to have you on board. When I was writing all the code for the competition, I spent a lot of time thinking about all the things that could happen because we wanted to prevent gaming as much as possible. As a former hacker, I'm a bit familiar with these kinds of things. Looks like you discovered one of our little counter measures... :)

Thanks also for sharing the bug report. I'll take a look into it. I think I may know the bug that you're talking about because I just discovered it while trying to log in this morning. But can you please help me confirm it?

Can you please these steps and let me know if you can log in or not?

1. Close Firefox
2. Open Firefox
3. Go directly to Beat The GMAT's home page (https://www.beatthegmat.com)
4. If you're logged into Beat The GMAT, please log out of it.
5. Click the "login" link on the upper right corner of the home page. Your browser should go to the login page.
6. Click the "Login with Facebook" icon
7. Please let me know if you were able to login by following Steps 1-6

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for finding another bug. I just realized that we didn't post the complete set of rules. For instance, we forgot to include the weekly drawing schedule. We'll fix that tomorrow (California time)!

Thanks for the info Sandeep. Seems like you're experiencing the same issue that I experienced. Can you please follow these steps and let me know what happens? You shouldn't be able to log in.

1. Log out of Beat The GMAT. (You may still see your username in the $100K Challenge status bar - that's OK)

2. Go to any one of Beat The GMAT forums.

3. Click on "Post a Topic" button. Your web browser should automatically go to the Login page.

4. Click on the "Login via Facebook" button.

Thanks again for the help! I'm really happy to be working with nice members like you.

I'm a facebook noob and I don't really understand how this works. Do I earn points by using these forums, or only by doing things on facebook? Also, how/what do I "like" in order to earn points? It shows I have 0 points - so what do I need to "like" to use my "likes" -- does anyone else realize how ridiculous all that sounds?

@sorter, your question isn't ridiculous at all! the entire beat the gmat team is currently living and breathing facebook apis and such. and so we sometimes forget that there are a lot of people who aren't as technogeeky as us. :) when i first told my wife about this competition, she also said, what does it mean to "like"?

anyhow, here's the info that you're looking for: in order to "like," you need to click the little icon of the "thumb" that is below each signpost. once you do that, then you will get points.

@sandeep, thanks for the suggestion. you're right. we don't have enough guidance on where to look and where not to look for signposts. will be updating things today.
