At Payaso Clown College, 600 students study juggling or balloon animals or both. If 250 of these students do not study balloon animals, how many of these students study both juggling and balloon animals?

Of the 600 students, 200 students do not study juggling.
A total of 400 students study juggling.
A Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

given total = 600
and also neither = 0
now total = a + b - both + neither

Also we are given 250 do not study balloon animals, thus 350 study...

Statement 1) 200 do not study juggling
that mean 400 study juggling
hence 600 = 350 + 400 - Both
and we can get the answer..
sufficient

Statement 2)
essentially says the same thing..
sufficient...

IMO: D

PS: if i understood the problem and neither is not equal to 0 then, the answer wud be E... but as of now, if it were a exam question, I would have chosen D... :)

I feel the answer is D.
