Hello Stacey,

This year's only required essay question for Wharton - What are your professional objectives? (300 words) is pretty challenging. With only so many words allowed, I guess there needs to be some compromise. I have already set my essay based on my future long-term, big picture and short-term, specific goals. In addition, I was able to put in a couple of sentences giving my background, skills acquired and a logic for getting an MBA now.

I understand that in a standard career goals question, it is ideal to answer Why MBA, Why Now and Why School. But the word limit does not seem to allow much room for that here. Could you throw some light on what else could I put in or change in my essay? In other words, among Why MBA, Why Now and Why School, which one is a must have for a 300 words career objectives question?

I truly appreciate your assistance,
Thanks,
Niladri.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. You ask a good question. Given the word limit on this essay there just isn't a lot of room to write everything a traditional "Why MBA" essay asks. I encourage you to try to fit in a "Why Wharton" component if at all possible. Check out our Essay Topic Analysis on our blog for more tips:
