Need advice.. I am confused

Hello,

I did my GMAT few weeks ago and got a low score. Since then, I have been using Manhattan Books and I have done Five CAT's. The First CAT was 490, 2nd, 580, 3rd 630, Fourth 690 and the last one is 730. I dont know what is going on.

First of all, I dont need 700+. However, it was nice to see that score,

I found that I did very well on the Verbal Section ( my actual verbal on the GMAT was very low).


My Quant is also good.

Can anyone provide an explanation?

Interesting! One explanation could be you are improving

Seriously that is how it goes. As for not wanting a 700+ well it can never hurt!

Thanks for your response. However, what worries me that I was scoring 550-600 with KAPLAN last time before my first attempt and I did not score that number so if I am scoring in 700+, there is no guarantee that I will do the same on the actual exam.

Moreover, it seems that OG 12 is not the best indicator of what the actual question will be.

I am just doing my best....

If I had to choose a score as an indicator of my real score the list would go like this:

GMAT Prep > Grockit > MGMAT > >>>>>>>>>>>>> ...........Kaplan (nah ........I would not keep it in the list)

SO be happy if the MGMAT score is good. OG and GMAT Prep are the bibles my friend! They are past retired questions they are accurate and good, atleast I felt so. If I had to choose on having a prep material question and OG questions, hands down OG would win any day anytime.........

I found Manhattan tests to be a very good indicator of my score. I also think that the OG is very important to use depending on your scoring goals. JMO, but if you cant answer almost everything correct in the OG odds are you wont be over 700 on test day. Knowing how to do those questions is key in improving your scores.

If I were you I would take the GMAT Prep exams. Do it under real conditions if you believe there was very negative correlations with your previous practice exams with Kaplan and actual test results. I never did this but my plan all along was to go to the Library around the time of my scheduled exam and take the prep exam there including doing the AWA portion. Take that and see how you do. Its probably the best estimate you can have of your final score.
