Hi all,

A lot of people have told me that being European (British) is an advantage for the big US schools as they are trying to widen their student population and get more foreign students in. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not this is true and how much of an advantage it could be? I appreciate it's a vague question so any general comments would be useful.

Thanks,
Joseph

US schools are big on diversifying their student body. Especially from underrepresented countries, and the UK is one of them. Because you have so many good b-school options in the UK, we get relatively few "foreign" applications from your neck of the world. for this reason you can certainly offer a unique perspective to US schools which can be an advantage. US schools get far more applications from India and Asia, so coming from an underrepresented country can help schools fill their target international applicant quotas.
