Hello,
One of the reference letters that I plan to attach is from a science researcher, whom I worked with at a Berkeley research faciliy. At that time I was a freah grad, while she was doing her Post-Doc. In my opinion, it would be a good reference because she was leading the research initiative and I was working closely with her.
She has moved to Korea for another research opportunity since 2006. I have recently reached out to her regarding the reference. She tolgd me that she's just had a new newborn and she's currently unemployed. I just wonder how it would affect the effectiveness of the letter. Thanks..
