Simple arithmetic

Hi Guys,

Need to clear some logic here.

Q-1) What is the smallest number that is divisible by both 34 and 35 ?

Q-2) What is the second smallest number that is divisible by both 34 & 35 ?

THE OA for first ques is : 1

My query: doesn't divisible by 34 mean : number / 34 so here 1 / 34 is fraction.

Please help me out here.

Thanks,

Cheers,
GR

No, your mixing things up.

So your Q1, a number that's divisible by 34,35. What they are asking you is of a number that when you divide 34,35 by it, the result is an integer without any remainder.

like 34/1 = 34, 35/1 = 35

Clear?

There must be some mistake indeed, but "1 is divisible by 34 and 35" does NOT mean 34/1 and 35/1; you have it right in your query. The phrase "X is divisible Y" means "X can be divided by Y" -- the same as X/Y -- with no remainder. The only way the OA can be 1 is if there is a mistake in the wording.
