Only Contenders are A and D. Because the -ed modifier should modify "fossils of..." to maintain the intended meaning.

in D, "which resembles..." is used as non-essential. But it is actually essential for meaning.

pick A.

My pick is A

All the answer choices except B are

"Something" ...............provides/provide evidence of

So that something has to be fossils and not crazy the animal.... So C is out ...Now looking back at the other options

Option D : Fossils (plural)... So verb should be "provide" ..hence out
Option B: animal providing fossils ?? sounds illogical ...
