non-underlined portion says "are immature..." hence brussels sprouts is plural. We need 'their'

their goes with plural exceed instead of exceeds.

ABC out.

"exceed a walnut's large size" what is exceeding this size?
size should exceed size. this comparison is not clear in D.

E sets up the comparison correctly.

One small request..can you please underline the incorrect part when posting? It is helpful especially while solving using the timer. If there is no underlining, we need to spend a few seconds to figure out which part is actually under consideration..

D creates an illogical comparison between Brussels sprouts and Walnut's size. E makes a clear comparison by comparing the Brussels sprouts and a large walnut and adds "in size" to clarify the attribute being compared..
