is the early admit round considered pre-rd 1? ex UNC?

For example,
UNC - Chapel Hill.

They have 4 deadlines listed on there website:

October 26*, December 7, January 4, March 7

*Our first deadline, October 26th, is the Early Action deadline for applicants who know they will attend UNC if admitted.

--

All the advice on this website, and many others, says to avoid the 3rd round of applications. Is that Jan 4th deadline considered the 3rd round, or is it no different then a 2nd round at a school not offering early action?

Just wondering if applying to the Jan 4. admission would be considered 3rd round and not good.

Hi thunderdogg,

The January deadline would be considered the second round. You don't need to include early decision deadlines in the typical "rounds."

Good luck!
