Hi,

Thanks for your post. Academically speaking you are in good shape with your strong GPA and GMAT score. In regard to your work experience, you are a bit on the younger side for a full time MBA applicant. It's important to keep in mind that adcoms take into consideration the amount of work experience you have at the time of the application and not at matriculation - therefore you will be evaluated solely on your 2 years of experience thus far.

While I think you can be competitive at the programs on your list, keep in mind that you are part of a large applicant pool - there are many engineers with similar profiles applying to top bschools. I suggest you find ways to distinguish yourself from others in the pool. This can be done through researching the programs and finding ways you can make an impact as well as writing top notch essays that set you apart from others in the pool.

Best,

Stacey

A big thanks to you Stacey for your reply. I just had a couple of questions regarding your advice. You say that i should research the program in great detail and tell the schools how i can make an impact, can you please elaborate. What i got from your advice was that i should go through their course curriculum and convey to them what subjects i will opt for and how they will help in my goals after the MBA. But what i am unclear about is the "impact" part of it. Please help

Thank you

Hi,

In regard to your question about research, I meant to imply that you should go above and beyond the schools' websites. In addition to looking at their curriculum, you may wish to research their clubs and other organizations to see which ones you wish to join. Perhaps reach out to current students or alums to learn more about the school. Anything you can glean to learn more about the program and personalize your applications will go a long way.

Best,

Stacey
