Dear pri04,

While there are some positives in your profile, I think your GMAT score is going to be quite a hurdle for you. As an international student, you are competing for a limited number of seats in a US MBA program. Likewise, your education and experience are very common in the global MBA applicant pool, so you appear to be quite similar on paper to many other applicants with higher GMAT scores. A great set of essays and recommendations might be enough to get you to an interview at some of these schools, and then it will be up to you to use that interview to your advantage. However, I am concerned that your GMAT score being below your target schools' averages, as well as being low relative to similar applicants, will be a tough challenge to overcome. I think you have two options: take the GMAT for a 3rd time to increase your score to a more competitive range or re-evaluate your schools to have more safety options (i.e., those with GMAT averages under a 630) in the mix.

Good luck,
Lisa
