How to apply for Phd programs

Hi, this question is though a very open ended, but I actually want to know the process and where to start with. I am looking to pursue a Phd in strategy marketing and looking forward for a top 20 US university/LBS/LSE etc.

Can anybody share some inputs.

I suggest first assessing your profile and clarifying your goals, and deciding which programs would be the best fit for your needs and where you'd also be competitive. Although it is targeted to MBA applicants, my free online mini-course explaining step by step how to develop a list of appropriate programs might be helpful, as the process is just about the same.
