If x = 2 y, what is the value of x y?

(1) x > y.

(2) 3 x - 2 y = 14.

if you plug the given equation into this, it doesn't give you anything
x>y
2y>y

2) suff

3x-2y=14
3(2y)-2y=14
4y=14
y=7/2
x=7
