Palm vein recognition

by gmatapain » Mon Aug 23, 2010 8:57 pm
Hi,
I took GMAT yesterday. Got a 610 (Q 38, V 35)

Well, I took it once last year also and din get a good score.

When I went to the center, I was told that my hand imprints did not match the ones in their record and that they would forward it to GMAC for review. This thing put me under a lot of pressure and I was not able to concentrate on my exam. Especially when I was told, that this was a rare case. I contacted GMAC soon after my exam, and the said my case is under review.
What does it mean?
Has anyone had such an experience before?

I've never heard of this happening but if it turns out the GMAC is at fault somehow you might try to get a free re-take since they hampered you test taking. I've heard of a girl who got a free re-take (but I think that was because there was a problem with her computer)

I took got a free retake, but it was a result of two administrative errors that occurred during the test. Even with what I feel were very legitimate reasons to warrant a retest, it took a lot of pushing to get GMAC to issue a free retest. Luckily for me everything was caught on camera.

I highly doubt that you'll have any luck if this circumstance took place before the test and didn't actually hinder you while you were physically taking the test. But who knows, might be worth a shot. Just be warned, it's an uphill battle with the GMAC.
