What's a fair statement?

by bartholomewj » Mon Dec 03, 2007 7:18 pm
Hi Stacy/Amy:

I know this probably isn't a big deal, since my application will contain my graduation date, and my resume with dates of employment, but wanted to get your opinion:

In the data form section of the application, when they ask you to list the years and months of full time employment you will have by the time you start your MBA, should I include the time spent in summer internships?

I worked in a business throughout each summer of college, and the summer after college. This adds up to almost an additional year of experience. I'm just not sure whether they intend for us to include that experience, or if they mean solely work experience after graduation.

Thanks,

Bartholomew

Hi Bartholomew,

Schools may vary in what they intend for this question. If the school has an area for part time and summer employment, that is the right place to enter such information. If not, it may be appropriate to add your summer employment to full time. I would confirm by reading the instructions for your online applications carefully, they will specify how they expect you to answer the question.

Good luck!
