R2 or R3?

by jelt » Sun Dec 02, 2007 2:25 pm
Hi Stacy/Amy,

As a college senior, I've heard advice that R3 may be a better choice because schools are looking to round out their class. I've also heard however that in general R3 is not a good idea (for instance schools may ask why you chose R3 and not R2.. 'busy' doesn't sound like a great reason for a college senior).

Which should I pick? I'm looking at HBS, Stanford GSB and Chicago GSB specifically. I'll have a month break this month when I can probably bust my gut out to come up with good apps, but if waiting for R3 won't hurt (or may actually help) I'd prefer to go down that route.

Thanks in advance!

Hi jelt,

I would strongly advise applying in R2 if you have the time. I've haven't heard that R3 is better for college seniors.

Good luck!
