- GMAT Score:700
Hello all,
I recently took my GMAT for the second time and didn't attain the score I wanted, so I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve. I wish I could be like most people on this board and be disappointed with a 710, but all I have is my 640 to work off of. I'm aiming for a 700 +/- 20 points.
History:
1st official GMAT: 600 (Q42, V31) w/ little-to-no preparation beforehand
2nd official GMAT: 640 (Q42, V35) w/ 6-8 weeks of rigorous self-study (1.5 years after I took the 1st test)
Used:
-Official Guide 12th edition
-Kaplan verbal and math workbooks
-Manhattan SC and all math workbooks
I graduated college 1.5 years ago with a Mechanical Engineering degree, so some may be surprised by my 'low' quant scores. I will admit, the second time I took the test, I panicked during the quant section and couldn't think straight for some of the tougher questions, but the 'brain teaser esque' gmat math questions were never my strong suite.
Given this, what is the best way for me to proceed? I know I need to take more practice tests to ease my test anxiety. Since it seems I've 'maxed out' my self-study potential (especially on verbal), should I pony up the dough for a professional class like Knewton or Kaplan Advanced?
Thanks
