Last summer saw a 500% increase in tourism at the seaside resort, and the national economic situation is even more favorable this year. This summer ' s tourist boom will surely generate record revenues which will resolve the area ' s economic difficulties.

The author is very sure about the summer's tourism boom this year and even goes onto state that it will solve the area's economic difficulties. The author bases his prediction on last year's tourism success which is based on unsubstantiated facts. Information about the below mentioned assumption and factors will go a long way in determining a meaningful conclusion.

Firstly, a 500% increase is a lot. The reasons for such a phenomenal increase are not mentioned. Was the tourism in previous year poor because of economic crisis or was it because of reasons like there were some security issues like bomb threats etc in the area which discouraged tourists from visiting the area.

Secondly,economic situation is favourable this year is no guarantee that it will increase tourism in the area to a record breaking levels. People may choose to go abroad or to some other destinations like hill stations which are traditionally costlier than visiting seaside resorts as they can afford to spend more. Normally a region sees a record breaking tourism when there is a new attraction or event to see like may be world beach volleyball championships is being held in the area.

Thirdly, tourism may contribute significantly towards economy but it may definitely not be the only factor affecting the region's economy. If there is an economic crisis then better fiscal policies which keep a check on lending rate, inflation
etc should be implemented and the government should have a sound budget for the area.

In conclusion, increase in national economic situation will not necessarily solve the region's economic problems as there is surety that revenues this year will be higher than previous year's as growth may depend on several factors which are not stated in the argument.
