Hi my name is Mansi,

I am from Mumbai India. I am 22 years old and just completed my Bachelors in Engineering.

I have consistent percentages of about 65% in my engineering

I also have good extracurriculars in school and college

I am working with an NGO called Operation Smile India which does free cleft surgeries in India. It is the Indian chapter of the US based Operation Smile Inc. My position is that of resource Mobilization/Fundraising/Donor relations

I plan to give my GMAT in mid September and would like to get into one of the following schools for a full time MBA:
UCLA
Chicago: Booth
Northwestern: Kellogg
Berkley: Haas
UC Davies
UC San Diego....and others

I would like to know what realistic chance I stand of getting into one of these schools.

Thanx

Hi Mansi -

You have listed some very competitive schools! In order to have a realistic shot at those schools you should aim to have at least 3 years of solid professional work experience. I would also aim for a GMAT score of 700 or above. Because you are still young, you will have time to focus on extracurricular activities as well. Your NGO work is interesting - make sure to take on leadership roles and to build relationships with the people who will write your recommendations. One question that will be on the mind of the Adcom is why you studied engineering but never worked in that field (and now want to pursue a business degree). Make sure that you are able to answer that question and that you have a well thought out plan for your future.

Best of luck to you!
