4 in the ten thousands

This mystery number has 5 digits. There is a 4 in the ten thousands place. None of the other digits is a 4. What is the smallest number that this mystery number can be?

i thought we were looking for the smallest possible number right? then why 49999, when 40000 is the smallest...is there a negative sign i missed?
