I gave my GMAT today and got a score of 640 (Math - 48, Verbal - 29 (pathetic)). I don't know how but somehow my mind just blanked out after answering the first ten questions of the verbal section. Anyways its done with now.

I would like to know that to what all schools to I should apply. I'm looking at Marshall, National University of Singapore as two options as of now. Please advise me on this. Further I'm pretty confused that whether I should apply to any school or take the GMAT again. My short profile is given below for your reference

I am a Consultant with Deloitte Consulting with 2 years of experience (3 years at the time of joining the b-school) in Consulting in areas such E-governance, Technology Advisory, Bid Process Management & Program Management. I have played various roles such as Process Analyst, Technology Consultant, Technology Lead, Hardware & Networking Specialist etc.

During the course of the two years I was awarded with two promotions that is from Analyst to Senior Analyst within 9 months and Senior Analyst to Consultant within 12 months. I was also awarded a rating of 'Exceeds Expectation' during the performance appraisal for the year 2009-2010.

Some of the clients I have worked with include Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, Steel Authority of India Limited, Hindustan Insecticides Limited & Kerala State Electricity Board. The industries I have consulted with included Energy and Resources, Steel, & Chemicals & Fertilizers.

Apart from this I have also been involved in Business Development Activities such as proposals preparation and proposal presentations across sectors. I have played a key role in win of new clients such as Punjab Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Project (World Bank funded), Information Communication Technology Agency - Sri Lanka (World Bank funded), UNICEF, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and Directorate General of Hydrocarbons for Deloitte

I have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from a Deemed University in India with a GPA of 2.7. During the 4 years, I had consistently improved my GPA, which always showed a upwards trend, that is from 2.2 to 3.2

I have also completed the Harvard Business School Online Certification - Stepping upto Management

Dear fighter_21,

I think you have some positives in your profile, but your GMAT and GPA might hold you back at this point for the schools you note. You are below average on these measures and that might be difficult to overcome in a selective process, especially at schools with large applicant pools. If you have only taken the GMAT once and feel you can do better, then it is probably worth it to take it again. Increasing your score 30+ points will put you in a much better position for most schools in terms of competitiveness. You might also consider identifying some schools that meet your curriculum and career opportunities needs, but whose GMAT averages are in the 600-640 range. In the event your score does not increase or you decide not to take the GMAT again, these would be schools where your profile would be more competitive.

Thanks. I would like to know to what all schools to I should apply for fall 2011, if any. I'm looking at Marshall School of Business (Usc), National University of Singapore as two options as of now. Should i definitely give it a another shot before I apply or should I also think of applying this year. Please advise me on this.
