fewer is preferred because drive-ins are countable...

Go with C as opposed to B

the split is between less and few, and many and amount. So B seems to be the correct choice.

IMO A , but not convinced

(A : unable to understand. looking absurd)
B : 'as many' is wrong. It is always 'as many as'
C : fewer than <> amount " -> countable vs non countable
D : the number is less than one quarter of that amount -> same as C, also amount is used for 4000
E : 'it' for drive-ins

what is the source and OA ??

How come "of that amount" is correct in C? Do we have an OE for this?
