How Can I Boost my Profile.

by adhir » Tue Jul 13, 2010 12:20 pm
this is my first post, so bare with me if my question is a little naive.

So i have decided that i want to pursue my MBA in a few years. I am currently pursuing my CFA Charter ( will find out my results for L1 in 2 weeks), and intend on seeing this through. But as of right now i believe that my candidacy for any top program is weak, I never before thought about going for post graduate school, b/c early on life was essentially a big party and i just wanted to have fun.

But i have since come to my senses, and have some high goals for myself. One of them is getting into a good b-school. I was essentially wondering, from here on out (unitl i finish my CFA charter). How can i bolster my profile to perhaps, get into a good business program (atleast top-15)

My Candidacy as of right now is fairly weak.

- 1.5 years working for a brokerage here in Toronto, Canada
- Low Undergrad GPA (C+)
- planing on writing the GMAT, in 2-3 months after i receive my CFA Level 1 scores.
- pursuing my CFA charter
- 0 volunteeing/ extra curricular

How can i boost my profile and get into a better school?

THanks in advance.

i suppose i should add that, my main motivation for pursuing an MBA is mainly for the networking experience and to get recruited into a good firm.

Have you taken the GMAT yet?
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.
