Advise 4 months prep 510 - Please advise

I prepared a total of 6 months before sitting for the GMAT. I took a Kaplan course that cost 1200 and self studied for about 18 weeks. I worked my butt off - utilizing the forums to create a study plan. I read Fortune magazine during my free time and took a practice test each day during my last 2 weeks of study. I suck at Standardized test - end of discussion.

I am mentally exhausted. However not ready to give up. I have been reading great things online regarding the power-score bilble. Do you all think this is something that could raise my verbal score by 6 points or more. I am actually very good at sentence correction. I have been reading everything I could get my hands on and i notice a difference in my SC. So advise help thoughts suggestions

Surely I did 4-5 hours a day...Kaplan -Manhattan Cats and free material. N/s if I am missing out by not using the math books

Ya you are missing out big time. Those are great guides, PowerScore CR/MGMAT Sentence Correction/MGMAT Quant guides. After going through the entire MGMAT sentence correction and doing the prescribed OG problems at the end of each chapter, my accuracy has improved big time and I am starting to identify grammatically errors! I suggest you thoroughly go through those and see if that helps your score before you intend to quit!

Hi KingTimo,

Try to look at the exam at different angle, finding each of your weaknesses and fixing it is the key. Please go back to all your exams and note down which questions you got wrong or took you more time and note down those questions, and ask how can you fix them. Take your time to understand the concept behind them, even if it takes a hour or two. Write a notes mentioning that next time you see this kind of question, I am going to approach in this way. A methodical approach to solving each kind of question is important. To give you an example, if you hit a golf ball with no proper swing what will happen, your probability of the ball falling closer to the putt is smaller than with a proper swing. Think about it. Approach the game in a different way. The different way is to find your strengths, and weaknesses and working your way to getting rid of all the weaknesses. Good Luck
