Well I dont think any of the options are correct , if at all I were to choose one I would pick E .

In all the options A, B , C ,D the pronoun HIS is ambiguous .

But in E I suspect has a modifier issue as At age four should modify Mozart and not Mozart's Father.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I chose D for its concision, but the answer is C

Ahhh !!! yes I see the difference .

See the subject Mozart in C and D but in C one important word that is easy to miss is HIS OWN and that conveys the meaning and use of HIS here is justified .

Where as in A , B and D HIS could refer to Mozart or Mozart's father any one .

E has a modifier issue .

what basically is happening in the BOLD statement above. BOLD part is an infinitive Phrase and when an infinitive phrase concludes a main clause, you need no punctuation to connect the two sentence parts

I also read somewhere, but unable to recollect that infinitives cannot be uses as phrases with comma preceding it. I am not sure whether C is the answer.

IMO C.

The two contenders are C and D.

The main difference btw the 2 is higlighted.
C. Mozart began accompanying his father on tours of the capitals of Europe, to demonstrate his own musical talents
D. Mozart began accompanying his father on tours of Europe's capitals, to demonstrate his musical talents

Logically, mozart toured with his father to see VARIOUS capitals in EUROPE (Europe contains many countries). Hence, C.

D sounds as if Europe has multiple capitals. This would be absurd.
