The figure above shows the number of meters in the lengths of the four sides of a jogging path. What is the total distance around the path?

(1) One of the sides of the path is 120 meters long.
(2) One of the sides of the path is twice as long as each of the two shortest sides.

I got this answer correct, however I do not quite grasp the 2nd statement, does it mean that one of the sides of the path is twice as long as EITHER of the two shortest sides? And since the two shortest sides are x, can we safely say that one of the sides of the path is equal to 2x?

so, we have the four sides: x, x, 3x, x+60

thus, the smallest sides are of x length

statement 2 tells us that we are told that one of the sides is 2*x.. since that side can't be 3x, it has to be the "x+60" side
-->x+60=2x --> therefore it is sufficient --> choice B
