Hi All,

I took my GMAT on 17th June 2009, and scored 560 (Q46, V21). I couldn't finish my exam, i was left with 2 verbal questions unanswered at the end. I was very disappointment with my score. Now, I am planning to retake it on 31 July. So, i have only 5 weeks to prepare. Well my main problem is verbal, and especially SC. I am ok in CR, but RC also gives me a hard time. I am not native english speaker, and my english is not very good.

Here is the list of material i used :

Prepared for the exam for over 3 months:
Knewton Diagnostic Exam :450
Knewton online classes and whole homework material
OG 12 (full)
Kaplan Guide
VIP tests
OG REview VErbal Edition 2nd
OG review Quant Edition 2nd
Beatthegmat Flash cards

Knewton Practice Test:

Practice GMAT #1 03/22/2010 at 06:51PM Q35 V19 450
Practice GMAT #2 05/10/2010 at 03:36PM Q32 V29 510
Practice GMAT #3 05/11/2010 at 05:02PM Q32 V26 490
Practice GMAT #4 05/13/2010 at 06:01PM Q37 V27 530
Practice GMAT #5 06/07/2010 at 04:51PM Q44 V25 570

Kaplan PRactice Test (1): 520 28/04/10
Kaplan Diagnostic test : 610

MGMAT 1 : 590 Q 37 V 32 (could not complete the Quat section)

GMAT Prep 8 days before the exam : 530 Q34, V 27
GMat Prep 2: 4 days before the exam: 530 Q40, V 23
GMat Prep 3: 2 days before the exam : 530 Q 44, V20

WEll i was very disappointment when i saw my GMAt prep exam score, and was just hoping to get 600+ on the actual GMAT. But, clearly didnt. I feel My verbal score kept going down with each exam. I reviewed all the questions,i got wrong. I feel SC made my score go down, as i get very confused with them.

Please advise me on, which material to use and the what should i do to make my SC improve. is it possible for me to improve 100 points in one month. I am aiming for 650+ and i have only one month with me.

Thanks,

Kiran Khatri

There are a lot of materials available on this section of the forum that others discuss how they studied and the materials they used. My recommendation is to read through those and figure out the difference between your journey and journey of others.

Verbal is not my weakness but for SC help, consider the MGMAT SC guiudes and the GMATFIX SC lessons. You have already bought a lot of materials so maybe you don't feel like spending anymore; perhaps you can find the MGMAT in used condition to save some $, and the GMATFIX offers a free sample of all its materials.

there are also SC flashcards that some companies sell or offer free. But when it comes to flashcards I think that the rule of thumb is that you are most likely to remember the material if you write your own flashcards.

Anyway, good luck!
