even number

by jube » Sun Jun 13, 2010 4:08 am
Ok, so this is probably a silly doubt but I got a question wrong because of my understanding so here goes!

Will the term "even number" always be an integer or can be it a fraction as well? That is does the number in the term "even number" always imply an integer?

For example, 2.4 cannot be an even number.

Have I got this right?

Thanks in advance!

You're right.

2.4 cannot be an even number.

Only integers can be odd/even. A fraction cannot be even/odd. It can only be positive/negative.

You are correct - only integers can be even or odd
