GMAT Strategy Suggestions - Knewton.

Hello everyone,

I'm currently using Knewton. All in all it's good. I attended the live classes once but mostly I just watch them archived. It allows me to take a break and re-watch concepts I don't understand. I am on lesson 5 out of 12. It has been pretty slow going. I was looking at the Manhattan Guides and wondering if I should have went that route. Realistically, I think I need some one-on-one with the math section. My verbal isn't stellar but I think I can figure that part out. I have time to devote to studying but what ends up happening is I served up a question I don't know how to solve. I beat my head against the wall and search the internet and the Knewton Concepts to see if I can tackle the problem. Sometimes I still end up getting nowhere. I don't want to just click any answer and just see the solution at the end. I think if I went that route then I would not be really learning the test (maybe only THAT particular problem). I really don't want to travel anywhere for a tutor. It would eat up a lot of my time commuting. I saw some tutoring sessions online but they are EXTREMELY expensive and I don't know how effective they are.

Target score: 600 (state school)

Any suggestions?


Also, does anyone know if the "take again" option on Knewton keeps serving up different problems?

Perhaps you are not approaching the materials the right way. I am studying materials from MGMAT and hack the GMAT for math, and if you follow the book and do the questions at the end of each chapter, there is no reason why things won't make sense to you. If you do not understand the explanation, you can actually google for 90% of the exact questions and find several discussions of different approaches.

So if you can't figure out certain aspect of math and the answer plus explanations aren't sufficient, then I suggest you to go back to the basic of that particular type of question and work your way back up.

I did Knewton a couple of weeks ago and it really help me a lot in my verbal part.

How about the homework? Knewton has a lot of homework to do.
