A swimming pool can be filled by pipe A in 3 hours and by pipe B in 6 hours, each pipe working on its own. At 9 am pump A is started. At what time will the swimming pool be filled if pump B is started at 10 am?
(A) 10:20 am
(B) 10:30 am
(C) 10:50 am
(D) 11:20 am
(E) 11:30 am

At 10am 1/3 rd of the pool is filled

pool filled by pipe A +pipe B in 1 hour is 1/3+1/6=1/2

So 2/3 will be filled in 2*2/3 hr or 4/3 hr or 1hr 20 minutes

So the pool will be filled at 11.20 am
