Hi there

I am wondering how much studying for the gmat translates into everyday life.

For the people who improved their score through studying hard, do you feel sharper/smarter?

Are you able to analyze real life problems better?

I am just curious because I am considering studying for it, but I would be much more interested if I thought that it would also improve my general intelligence, analysis of everyday problems and overall quality of work.

Any thoughts?

thanks

LOL...As soon as your test is over forget everything you have learned...it is useless knowledge.

During my GMAT prep I definitely felt more stupid. The reason why is that this test features material that was covered in my early highschool days, and I had pretty much forgotten everything.

The GMAT is definitely not an intelligence test. And so far, I don't think that this test has helped me analyze problems better. However, I won't discount the skills that you learn either; if anything you'll need to come back to this material again when you're at business school taking quant classes. :)
