I don't plan on applying to to B-school until I have at least another 2 years of work experience (total of 3). The schools I am targeting are: Columbia, Northwestern, University of Chicago, and Yale.

So my questions/concerns are:
-Is a 690 with a Q43 good enough for these schools in regards to my experience above?
-How detrimental would it be to take the GMAT again (4+ times)?

Any analysis of my potential acceptance to these schools given my above credentials would be much appreciated. I am so incredibly sick of studying for the GMAT, I want nothing more than to be done studying for good. But as I've said, I am just not sure if a Q43 is high enough to stop my pursuit.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

The 43 is relative and the fact that your split was pretty even will actually look good to b-schools, especially given the quant in your academic background. I would consider yourself done with the GMAT--congratulations! A 690 is stellar and is only nominally different than a 700. You are wise to continue gathering work experience. Challenge yourself and focus on projects or endeavors where you can demonstrate leadership. Try to hone in on impressing superiors who will rank you as a standout among your peers. All in all you have the potential for a great application so long as you weave a good story in your essays and articulate a clear vision of why you want the MBA and what you plan to do with it. Good luck!
