Hi BTGer,
I am a Software Engineer working with Infosys Technologies for the past 1.3 years and worked with Convergys as a Technical Support Officer for AT&T for 5 months before that.
I have recently started preparing for GMAT and i somehow get the feeling that i won't be able to gather all that's needed to get into one of the top notch B Schools in the world. I can prepare for the GMAT properly and chances are there that i am able to get a good score on my cards but i do not have much Strong of a Profile as of now neither would i be able to build one by the time of Application Deadlines which is in the current time, very much necessary in order to get into a top B School.
I thought about these things a lot lately and came up with something like, if i prepare well for GMAT and concentrate on my Work as well and rather then going for Admissions this Session, if i take up the GMAT somewhere in June next year, then by the time of the First Round Deadlines for the Class of 2012, i would have much more WorkEx and i will have time to build a much Stronger and Deserving profile which is going to help me a lot in getting into the B School of my choice.
Also, it came to my mind that instead of picking up a 2 year MBA Program if i go for the schools which Offer 1 year PGP(like ISB, LBS, Great Lakes, Wharton etc, that way i will be able to Save Time and also, i won't have to be Jobless for more than an year or something. I am aware of the fact that a 1 year PGP is quite demanding and needs a lot of Hard Work as compared to the 2 year program, but that can be dealt with, i hope i am right in saying this.
Need your Feedback on this. Any Suggestions, Corrections, or Alternatives would be highly Appreciated.
Regards,
