logs on the pile

Each hour, a wood-harvesting machine cuts the same number of logs and places them on a pile. At 8 am, there are 13 logs on the pile. At 11 am, the pile has grown to 46 logs. How many logs will the pile contain at 6 pm, the same evening?
(A) 108
(B) 112
(C) 117
(D) 123
(E) 135

8AM 9AM 10 AM 11AM ............. 6PM (18hrs)

13 13 +x 13+2x 13+3x =46..............112

13+3x=46
x=11

t10 ( 18hr -8hr=10) = 13+(10-1)11=112

I am sorry.. I couldn;t quite follow your logic... I was getting answer as 123 which is obviously wrong and so I need to understand how you got 112.

46-13 is 33. 33 logs in 3 hours is 11 logs/hour.

From 11am until 6pm there are 7 hours. 7 * 11 = 77 new logs.

46 + 77 = 123, which is the correct answer to the question. What's the source?

i got 123
112 does not take into account the amount of logs made between 8am and 9am (according to the formula "13+(10-1)*11"
