Work Ex: Analyst with 21 months of exp at a German Bank. (all my work ex is international)
I joined as part of the graduate program in a top wall street firm. Since joining the bank I have had the opportunity to rotate within the division in various roles. My current profile is a typical middle/back office role, though I have worked in FX Operations, Futures Client services and Operations control during the last 21 months.

Undergrad: First class Honors in Comp Engineering (major) and Business (Minor) from an overseas university

Extracurriculars: Actively involved in my firm's CSR initiatives. Worked with an NGO in India for a brief period.
Held leadership roles in many student committes during my undergrad. After graduation actively deceloped Photography as hobby.

GMAT: Q49 V37 Overall 710

Nationality: Indian

I am interested in a MBA from a finance focused university as I want to continue my career in IB. I am targeting the following univ:

MBA: NYU, Columbia
MFE: UCB

Please evaluate my profile and suggest any other schools that might be a good match for me. Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Your profile seems quite solid. Academically speaking you are in good shape given your undergraduate performance and GMAT. Your GMAT is right on target with the average at Columbia, but is potentially a bit lower than others coming from an Ibanking background. You may wish to consider retaking it.

In regard to your work experience, it sounds like you have a solid foundation in finance given your rotational program and years of experience in the industry. That being said, you will want to be sure to polish up your goals so that adcom can understand exactly why you want/need your MBA to continue in the same field/industry.

Other schools that you may want to explore include Wharton, Chicago Booth, Tuck and Darden. Remember that "fit" with the program is just as important as course offering when making your selection.

Best,

Stacey
