710 GMAT

So after 4 months of prepartion I took my GMAT for the second time last week and got 710. Not quite sure about how I feel for this. I am aiming for Harvard, Stanford and MIT, my GMAT score is below the average for those places/borderline.

I am currently still undecided whether I should re-take the GMAT. My first attempt came in at 680 and I feel quite disappointed I didnt get higher than 710 this time, this was because the first few maths questions really got me.

I have worked in Finance for the past 3 years and think I can produce a reasonable resume / essay. I guess I might be able to call it a day here on the GMAT and focus on beefing my application up. Despite all these encouraging articles and posts on saying that you don't need a 740, there's still a voice in the back of my head nagging me to aim higher. But will that extra 30 points make a difference?

Suggestions /thoughts welcome... and good luck to those who are about to take it!

under normal circumstances I would say that your score falls in range for those schools... but having just taken the GMAT myself I understand the feeling of knowing that you can do better... so to that I say that going from a 710->740 will stand out more than someone who goes from a 740->770. If you have the $ and feel that you can get that 740... then hey... by all means...

you're just making it harder for the rest of us but there's nothing wrong with that!

That was really a very good score...!!! I do agree with money9111. If you still have money & able to workout, then go ahead with another attempt.
