Forty percent of the rats included in an experiment were male rats. If some of the rats died during the experiment and 30 percent of the rats that died were male rats, what was the ratio of the death rate among the male rats to the death rate among the female rats?

Let total number of rat 100x and 100y rats dies in the experiment
hence
Total Died Death-rate
male 40x 30y 3y/4x
Female 60x 70y 7y/6x

So death rate of male rat : death rate of female rat=3y/4x :7y/6x =9:14

Ans 9:14

yea ..deth rate of female rates is 7y/6x not 6y/7x...corrected in the original post.

Yeah Sanju bhai.. i always wanted to write that way.. heard some sort of pen can be used to write on the screen..But wont that damage our screen???

But it looks fancy...

Well dear GMATters:

First: use a tablet or something to write better than a simple mouse.
Second: When POST something use INSERT IMAGE ( the image there was recorded on the web address in it)
Third: Post it...
