Hey,
Would anybody please help me with the following sums.


1. The infinite sequence a1, a2,..., an,... is such that a1 = 2, a2 = -3, a3 = 5, a4 = -1, and an = an-4 for n > 4. What is the sum of the first 97 terms of the sequence?
A. 72
B. 74
C. 75
D. 78
E. 8

2. On a map Town G is 10 centimeters due east of Town H and 8 centimeters due south of Town J. Which of the following is closest to the straight-line distance, in centimeters, between Town H and Town J on the map?
A. 6
B. 13
C. 18
D. 20
E. 24


3. If a committee of 3 people is to be selected from among 5 married couples so that the committee does not include two people who are married to each other, how many such committees are possible?

A. 20
B. 40
C. 50
D. 80
E. 120


4. In the xy-plane, the point (-2, -3) is the center of a circle. The point (-2, 1) lies inside the circle and the point (4, -3) lies outside the circle. If the radius r of the circle is an integer, then r =

5.In a survey of 200 college graduates, 30 percent said they had received student loans during their college careers, and 40 percent said they had received scholarships. What percent of those surveyed said that they had received neither student loans nor scholarships during their college careers?
(1) 25 percent of those surveyed said that they had received scholarships but no loans.
(2) 50 percent of those surveyed who said that they had received loans also said that they had received scholarships.

Centre C (-2,-3)
A inside the circle (-2,1)
AC = 4 x coordinate is same -2
B outside the circle (4,-3)
BC = 6 y coordinate is same -3
6>r>4 or r = 5

It forms a rt. angle triangle HGJ where G is 90°
the hypotenuse HJ has to be the biggest side > HG = 10 and JG = 8
HG + JG = 10+8 = 18
18>HJ>10
IMO B
