Mgmat SC Problem set Parallelism

by eaakbari » Fri Apr 23, 2010 10:57 pm
Although we were sitting in the bleachers, the baseball game was as exciting to us as to the people sitting behind the home plate.

This was one of the solutions for the problem set of parallelism. My doubt is not in parallelism , but I feel the above sentence has a misplaced modifier. Although we were sitting in the bleachers modifies the baseball game . Shouldnt it modify us or we which would require the sentence to be rewritten

Please do confirm.
Whether you think you can or can't, you're right.

This is not a case of misplaced modifier .

The above sentence if a main clause and a subordinate clause .

we[subject] were[verb] sitting in the bleachers[predicate ] - Clause 1.

the baseball game[subject] was[verb] as exciting to us as to the people sitting behind the home plate[Predicate] - Clause 2.

The two clauses are connected by a comma and clause 1 is made a subordinate clause by the subordinating conjunction Although.
"Know thyself" and "Nothing in excess"
