In 20 basketball games, Ken scored an average of how many points?

(1) Ken scored twice as many points in the last 10 games as he did in the first 10 games.

(2) The average number of points scored by Ken was 2 fewer than his average over the last 10 games



The correct answer is C. I got it right because I guessed but have no idea how to figure it out the correct way. Can someone help?!

Answer is C.

X+2X/20 = (2X/10) - 2

3X - 4X/20 = -2

X=40

So the average score of all 20 games is 120 (3*40)/20 = 6

avg score for the last 10 games is 80 (2*40)/10 = 8
